For the Christmas and New Year holidays, we gave Odessa a piano that is sounding again

For the Christmas and New Year holidays, we gave Odessa a piano that is sounding again, as part of the Voice of Life social project from the Oktava Group of Companies. Odessans of all ages gathered at the City Center shopping mall: some stopped for a few minutes, some stayed for a long time, some listened silently, and some with a smile and warm eyes.

This piano is one of those that were evacuated from territories where the war tried to take away not only houses, but also the voice of culture. We restored it and brought it back to life so that it could sound for people again – here and now.

Igor Yanchuk, a pianist and composer, was at the instrument this evening, and the music seemed to unite everyone in a common feeling of peace and hope. It was clear: this gift resonated with Odessans. They accepted it – sincerely, truly.

In a country where pianos are no longer produced, each restored instrument is a small victory of life over silence.
And we are glad that now another such voice lives in Odessa.
