Management maturity in complex structures in times of high uncertainty: the Octava Capital approach

In multi-level investment holdings such as Octava Capital, the management model is not only about hierarchy, but about creating an ecosystem capable of withstanding extreme loads. Today, when the planning horizon is often limited by tactical challenges, our role as a Management Company is to remain the “Strategy Architect” and guarantor of sustainability.

As HR Director, I consider our function not simply as a service, but as a Center of Expertise, forming a community of leaders capable of acting autonomously. Our approach to human capital management is based on three fundamental principles:

1. Systematicity as a counterbalance to chaos.

We do not duplicate the functions of businesses, but help them operate more efficiently through synergy and common standards. In conditions of uncertainty, we consciously focus on the quality and coherence of decisions, rather than on illusory speed. For us, “fast” means the absence of operational errors and serious consequences in the future thanks to deep expertise at the start.
2. Flexibility in partnership.
Octava Capital’s model of interaction with businesses is not static. We adapt our role depending on the maturity of the asset: from strategic partnership and mentoring to anti-crisis support. This requires the managers of the Management Company to have a high level of adaptability – the ability to be both a strategist and a methodologist at the same time.
3. Responsible autonomy.
Our businesses are independent in daily decisions, but they operate within a clearly defined strategic framework. We work with leaders for whom freedom is synonymous with responsibility. The formation of a culture of trust in the group is not a declaration, but a working tool where each manager understands his zone of influence on the overall result (on the group’s EBITDA and its financial stability).

Our focus for 2026-2027 is to develop a management team where leadership maturity is a natural hedge against risk. We are looking for “marathon runners” who share our principles and are ready to create value over long investment cycles.
