Olexandr Kardakov, the author of the latest miltech developments, founder of Octava Defense and chairman of the supervisory board of Octava Capital, took part in a strategic meeting at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute dedicated to the development of miltech in Ukraine. The event brought together developers, scientists, military personnel, representatives of the state and business to jointly find effective solutions for the defense sector.
The event was another step towards consolidating efforts to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities through innovation and technology.
The speakers of the event were:
🔹 Serhiy Stirenko — Vice-Rector for Science of Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Coordinator of International Defense Projects in the Field of AI and Security.
🔹 Maria Berlinska — founder of the Center for Aerial Intelligence Support, initiator of the “Invisible Battalion”, has been teaching military personnel how to work with drones since 2014.
🔹 Andriy Hlybovets — Dean of the Faculty of Informatics of NaUKMA, Doctor of Technical Sciences, promotes defense R&D projects and project training.
🔹 Oleksandr Kardakov — expert in the field of cybersecurity and defense technologies, founder of “Octava Defense”.
🦾 During the event, Oleksandr Kardakov shared his experience on:
The role of business in the development of miltech — how companies can support university startups and accelerate the implementation of innovations in the army.
Cybersecurity in defense projects — why it is critical to implement data and network protection at the design stage.
Public-private partnerships — which models will help scale successful student developments, in particular UAVs and electronic warfare systems.
Kardakov also emphasized:
“It is time to create an engineering headquarters — a coordination center that will combine knowledge, time, and resources. So that we do not just respond to the needs of the front, but provide a technological advantage.”
🔸 He also emphasized the importance of dialogue between business and young talents: “Partnership should be built on parity, and business ethics should be the foundation for scaling new technologies that can change the rules of the game on the battlefield.”
