In the central atrium of the Riviera shopping center, the restored piano “Ukraine” sounded – an instrument that went through the process of evacuation from dangerous areas, restoration and return to life. Today, this piano officially became part of the open urban space of Odessa.
The event included a musical performance by Igor Yanchuk – a Ukrainian pianist and composer, whose playing set the tone for the entire evening and emphasized the main idea of the project: music as a living part of cultural memory, accessible to everyone.
The Voice of Life project is aimed at preserving and restoring iconic Ukrainian pianos “Ukraine”, the production of which has already been discontinued. The Oktava team finds, evacuates and restores the instruments, returning them to public spaces, educational and cultural institutions.
Thank you to the Riviera Shopping Center for supporting the initiative and the space in which music sounds.
Thank you to Igor Yanchuk for his professional performance and attentive attitude to the instrument.
Thank you to Odessa for your interest and warm welcome.
Voice of Life is about preserving a culture that must sound and live on.
