The Verkhovna Rada adopted the Constitution of Ukraine on 28 June 1996. Today the fundamental law of the state celebrates its 25th anniversary. The adoption of the Constitution consolidated the legal foundations of independent Ukraine, its sovereignty and territorial integrity, became an important step towards ensuring human and civil rights and further enhanced Ukraine’s international prestige on the world scene.
