HR as an architect of management logic: beyond support functions

In complex business structures, HR has long ceased to be just a support function. Especially where businesses work with long-term projects, high responsibility and in conditions of constant uncertainty.

In such models, it is not enough to simply hire strong specialists or take care of the comfort of employees. The management logic in which teams work comes to the fore.
It is she who determines:
• how decisions are made at different levels;
• where the boundaries of team autonomy are;
• how real responsibility for the result is formed;
• thanks to which the business maintains speed and manageability during scaling.

Corporate culture in such systems is not the result of individual HR initiatives. It is a consequence of management decisions, the behavior of leaders and the established principles of interaction.
Therefore, the role of HR in large investment and multi-profile holdings, such as Octava Capital, is transforming. Today it is no longer about “people management processes”, but more and more about the formation of management architecture:
– creation of common principles of the game;
– development of approaches to effective interaction;
– setting up responsibility systems;
– design and creation of an environment where team autonomy is combined with consistency of goals.
And now we no longer perceive this as a question of “corporate culture” in the classical sense. Today it is a question of system stability, quality of solutions and the ability to grow without losing manageability and trust.
After all, HR creates the architecture, and business determines how to live in it.
