Octava Group presented Kyiv with an updated ‘Ukraine’ for the City Day

On 24 May, the famous composer and pianist Yevhen Khmara, together with talented children from our city, played the iconic Ukraine piano, which was evacuated from the war zone and restored as part of the Voice of Life charity project of the Octava Group.

A special musical celebration took place on 24 May at the main entrance to the Gulliver shopping mall. The audience enjoyed an unforgettable musical atmosphere with compositions by famous authors performed on the iconic piano. Voice of Life has already been supported by such well-known Ukrainian artists as Dmytro Shurov, Jamala, TNMK, Druha Rika, etc.

‘Ukrainian music can be played on a variety of instruments. However, it is especially pleasant when it is performed on Ukrainian instruments. This is extremely important because it is about preserving our history and building our future,’ said Tetiana Andrianova, CEO of Octava Capital.

The social initiative of the Group is also supported by the Department of Culture of the Kyiv City State Administration. In particular, Bohdana Shumanska, a representative of the Department, noted that the participation of talented children of Kyiv in such a concert is extremely important, as it not only gives them the opportunity to showcase their talents, but also contributes to the preservation and development of Ukrainian musical culture. The younger generation is our future, and such events help them to realise their role in preserving the national heritage.

The first restored Ukraine piano was installed in KPI on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the university. The second one was presented in Podil with the participation of the first ambassador of the Voice of Life project, Dmytro Shurov, a well-known Ukrainian singer-songwriter, composer and musician, founder and soloist of Pianoboy. On the occasion of Kyiv Day, the Voice of Life project donated the instrument to Kyiv, which will be located in the Gulliver shopping mall, where it will delight visitors to the centre on a regular basis. Everyone will be able to play their favourite melody on the iconic instrument at any time.
