From now on, a special box has been installed in the lobby of our business center, where employees can bring used batteries from home and office for further safe disposal.
Why is this important?
One used battery can contaminate up to 16 m² of soil with heavy metals that enter the environment and can accumulate in ecosystems. That is why batteries are classified as hazardous waste and require separate collection and professional recycling.
The “Batteries, surrender!” initiative has been developing a culture of responsible waste management in Ukraine for over 10 years. Today, more than 240 companies have joined the project, and the network has more than 1,700 collection points throughout the country. The organizers ensure transparent logistics and dispatch of batteries to specialized factories in Europe with subsequent reporting on their recycling.
For us, this is not just installing a container. This is another step towards forming a culture of responsible consumption and practical implementation of the principles of sustainable development.
